After we started our coin business in December 1973, we organised our first coin auction on October 26th 1974.
Now we are 50 auction days down the road.
From the beginning there was always great interest from the collecting community.
The first auction venue in the Rubenshof on the Groenplaats was way to small and a number of
people were never able to get in.
Since then, we have always tried to make sure that the hall would be big enough, but with peeks of more then 240 collectors
present it did happen that some people had to stand up.
The number of people who participate by mail keeps continously rising and nowadays is about double of the people in the room.
After having the auctions in the Century Hotel, the Eurotel, the De Keyser Hotel, the Quality Inn (that changed its name to Scandic Crown
with in between an auction at Campo & Campo we have been since 1996 the guests of
Auction House Bernaerts.
The technical side doesn't stand still either and for some time now you can also find our catalogue on our site www.vanalsenoy.com
